Testing, Testing - AWDT fic

This little scenario popped into my head when I saw the prompt, so here it is.

Title: Testing, Testing.
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lusiology
Rating: PG-13,
Pairing: D/H
Word Count: 370
Genre: Humour
Disclaimer: No ownership, no money.
Beta: The hawk-eyed [livejournal.com profile] saladbats, smiter of rogue punctuation.
Prompt: I saw the way he/she looked at you.
Summary: It's a testing time for Harry.
A/N: Written for [livejournal.com profile] jamie2109's and [livejournal.com profile] nocturnali's AWDT.

“What are you doing? Get off!”

“Ouch! Will you relax?”

“How can I? Someone will see.”

“No, they won’t.”

“Of course they will, it’s a…”

“Are you deaf now as well as blind? She said she would give us ten minutes to try them both out, to give them a ‘test drive’, and that’s just what I intend to do. It’s an important investment, and we need to now how it performs under pressure, so come here.”

“No! Can’t we just be side by side and see how it feels?”

“…”

“Oh, for heaven’s sake! And you can take the Snow Queen face off.”

“Queen? Who are you calling a queen? I’m not the one creating the drama, am I? Now shhh and come here.”

“All right, if it means that much to you, I’ll do it, but only after I’ve cast a quick Disillusionment charm.

“Well hurry up then. Time is of the essence.”

“This had better be worth my while. Now, where do you want me?”

“Do you really need to ask?”

* * * * *

“Here’s your card, and may I say that I think you’ve made a wise decision sir.”

“Thank you.”

“Draco, come over here a minute and look at these.”

“What am I looking at?”

“Shhh. Listen, I’m sure the assistant saw us, you know… when we were ‘busy’.”

“Don’t be so absurd Harry. Are you suggesting that a Muggle can see through a Disillusionment charm?”

“She’s been watching us closely. I saw the way she was looking at you when you went to pay. I saw the expression on her face when you turned to me, and I’m telling you she saw us.”

“Well if she did, which I sincerely doubt by the way unless you buggered up the charm, I hope she enjoyed the free show. It was probably the hottest thing she’s ever seen.”

“Draco, why are you smiling like that?”

“You’ve gone the most delicious shade of red, Harry. It’s a little late to be embarrassed now. Come on, I’ve arranged the delivery so let’s get you out of here.”

“Yes. Let’s.”

“Give me a kiss.”

“Bugger off you git. Oh, and when the new bed arrives I'm going to ‘test drive' you - thoroughly.”

Much fun. That's a scenario I can see happening.

[identity profile] moonlite-tryst.livejournal.com 2006-02-11 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Well you know Draco, he wouldn't give house room to inferior merchandise, and that bed's going to take some pounding.

[identity profile] saladbats.livejournal.com 2006-02-11 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Next time we go bed shopping, I am definitely going to be thinking about this story. ;)

[identity profile] moonlite-tryst.livejournal.com 2006-02-11 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
It really does pay to test things properly - with clothes on of course.

[identity profile] aqua-chuu.livejournal.com 2006-02-11 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Lovely scenario! I had to giggle. A lot.

[identity profile] moonlite-tryst.livejournal.com 2006-02-11 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Giggling's good for the soul, and thank you.

Wonderful, lol! ^_^ Love it! I've been away from lj for a while due to some personal issues, and this just made my day! ♥

Welcome back. RL can be a real grind so I'm pleased that this little ficlet made you smile.

[identity profile] enchanted-jae.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Funny! Just what I needed to read!

[identity profile] moonlite-tryst.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Glad to hear that it cheered you up. :D
oconel: oconel's Flowers (Fred. Maybe George?)

Hehehe, lovely and fun!

[identity profile] moonlite-tryst.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you. I'm glad you thought so. :)

naughty boys :D

[identity profile] moonlite-tryst.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 07:54 am (UTC)(link)
Lucky shop assistant! *smirks*

[identity profile] sugareey.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 11:49 am (UTC)(link)
yay for dialogue! i would have paid to be the shopping assistant. no..really. *giggles*

[identity profile] moonlite-tryst.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
For some reason I find dialogue easier than all that scene setting. If I'd've been the assistant I'm sure I would've melted in a pool of goo. *smirks*

[identity profile] grey-hunter.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yes! I'm changing my occupation as of tomorrow to furniture seller. *goes off to look at job offers on the net*

[identity profile] moonlite-tryst.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 12:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Good luck with the job hunting. *G* Harry needs to take a crsh course in how to cast a charm whilst one contemplating getting off with a Malfoy.

[identity profile] firnsarnien.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG! This was hilarious! I don't know why, but I thought they were in a car, then I got to that last bit...ROTFLMAO! This was great! :)

[identity profile] moonlite-tryst.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 03:47 pm (UTC)(link)
but I thought they were in a car

Good, that's what I intended. *cackles evily* I often try to have a twist at the end so I'm pleased to see it worked. Thanks for reviewing. :) Excuse the self pimpage but if you liked that, then you may like this from earlier:

Your icon is... distracting. A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do to make sure he gets the best bed. :)

[identity profile] jamie2109.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG Haha I can so see Draco doing this. I will not be able to walk through a bedding shop now and not look at every single one of them to see if there's any unexplained movements on them. Hahaha. I really hope the asistant got an eyeful. Weee voyeur!!! Well done. *hugs*

[identity profile] moonlite-tryst.livejournal.com 2006-02-13 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Well you imagine the pounding that bed's going to take can't you? *Grins*

I'm currently looking for good fluff I haven't read so I can compensate for the heartache I know your finished fic is going to cause.

[identity profile] dacro.livejournal.com 2006-02-12 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
heh. Very cute. ;)
Was the woman a witch?

[identity profile] moonlite-tryst.livejournal.com 2006-02-13 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Was the woman a witch?

Not sure really whether she was a witch or Harry was too distracted to cast the charm properly. Initially I was going to have a customer approach the lads & give them his card - Dick Creamer, Talent Scout!!

Sometimes things are best left to your imagination, but who knows? Maybe inspiration will strike. Thanks for the review.

I enjoyed the site you linked me to re the icon. Those pics are really cute.

Hee, if I saw those boys tumbling around--Sorry, 'testing' a bed, I would peek too :) Lovely fic.

[identity profile] moonlite-tryst.livejournal.com 2006-02-14 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks. It would be quite a show wouldn't it? One can live in hope. *sighs*

[identity profile] melianebraith.livejournal.com 2006-02-14 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Add this to the list of things I will unexplainably giggle about whilst out and about and if ever in a furniture store. Loved the fic. I'm on the hunt tonight for things to make me smile since today isn't my favorite day and this made me grin from ear to ear. Thanks for that!

[identity profile] moonlite-tryst.livejournal.com 2006-02-14 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Well the day is almost over & I'm pleased this made you smile. If you want a couple more humorous ficlets then try these (although they are my earlier efforts):

HEEHEE. I LOVE your Draco!!!!! He's so mischievous.

[identity profile] moonlite-tryst.livejournal.com 2006-02-17 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
Heeh, he was just following the shop assistant's recommendations. The saucy bugger!

[identity profile] jerry-rus.livejournal.com 2006-03-12 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Fantastic! Very nice! Would you mind terribly, if I translate this fic into Russian language and publish it on our website? I will state everywhere that I am just a translator and you are the author of the fic.
Best regards,
Olga.

[identity profile] moonlite-tryst.livejournal.com 2006-03-13 10:47 am (UTC)(link)
First of all I'm incredibly flattered that you like the fic enough to want to translate it into Russian. I'm more than happy for you to do this with the appropriate credit. Can you send me a link to your site when you have posted it.
