Boku no Mii-chan by Sonoo Michiru

"Anyone will do. Let's get married." Morio, a wealthy scion, has been a recluse for 10 years. For the sake of his bedridden grandmother, he arranges a marriage interview, but the person who shows up is a tall, beautiful foreigner... a man!? Morio is surprised, but the man, Mitya, gently heals Morio's heart, and Morio proposes to him♥ Mitya formally agrees to move in with Morio, but in fact, Mitya suffered a deep emotional scar in in the past in his homeland!?

My Rate: 7

I have a kink for diffirent sized couple, and in this case it was a really huge difference, 40 cm. Plus the two are from different countries and do not speak each other language, so the contrast was even more evident. The story was surprisingly sweet, there is a little bit of sex, but it's almost an afterthought and it's not so primary, it's not even part of their daily conversation. What instead is the focus of the story is the healing power of love: both Morio and Mitya had soffered losses in the past, and they need to heal their wounds to be able to continue with their life. Two hurting souls finding comfort in each other arms this is what the story is about. The graphic is somewhat ethereal, like the story itself, and it concentrates on the good things, just giving a glimpse on the bad ones.

Thoroughbred Doesn't Flutter by Rico Sakura

Shishidou the lion is a playboy who's always in conflict with the thoroughbred honor-student Toshimasa Shiba. However, they were childhood friends and used to get along well in the past. Everything changed between them when Shishidou reached puberty.

My Rate: 7

The second book in the series it's a little less cute and a little more sexy. Shiba and Shishidou are childhood friends, but when puberty hits, things got derailed. In this series basically sexual urges are equalled to hunting, and Shishidou, a lion, was unable to control his urges when he was an adolescent. Not that later things got better. Actually Shiba decides to "sacrifice" himself to avoid Shishidou hunting other herbivore... even if, I think Shiba was just jelaus. I think the second book doesn't have a satisfying ending, meaning that, I'm not sure how these two will overcome their family in order to be able to be happy together. Right now I think they are just living an high school romance, we don't have the basis to say if it will last.

The Vampire And The Virgin Rose by Komachi Katsura

Yayoi’s in love with his classmate Chitose. Up until now, he’s been satisfied with watching the attractive but aloof vampire from afar. Then one day, Chitose asks to feed on Yayoi, who hesitantly agrees. But there’s one condition before each feeding: they must sleep together first. It’s a startling proposition for anyone, especially for Yayoi, who’s never even had his first kiss! And even though Chitose insists that all they’re doing is feeding, the warmth of his embrace suggests otherwise...

My Rate: 8 (tapas.io/series/the-vampire-and-the-virgin-rose-mature/info)

The graphic of Komachi Katsura is somewhat disconcerting, and at first you even wonder if the characters are really appealing or not, but once you enter her visual world, you found that indeed it's very beautiful and the characters are sort of mesmerizing. I really liked this story, even if it's not joyous or sweet, it has always a bittersweet undertone, it's at the very end and happily ever after (with a cat too!). Even the starting of the love between Chitose and Yayoi is bittersweet, but in a way Chitose is always nice and true to Yayoi, and he doesn't force the other boy to do nothing, actually he indulges in his every wim, like saving one canary life. I would have not minded to read more of adult Chitorse and Yayoi, but this is just one volume story, and it focuses mostly on their high school life.

Minori's Hand by Scarlet Beriko

The chiropractors, oasis, is no place for ordinary customers. It caters for all sorts from hotshot, crime syndicate leaders to nationally popular celebrities. Even those socially depicted as assertive are no match to the touch of Dr. Minori Shigehumi's magic fingers. Overflowing with affection, Dr. Minori's technique leads their heated bodies to a greater level of satisfaction......

My Rate: 7 (www.lezhinus.com/en/comic/minorishand)

If I hadn't read Fourth Generation Head: Tatsuyuki Oyamato, I would have been sad for the young yakuza leader, so don't be worried for him. Said that, I like Scarlet Beriko, and so it was a given that I liked also this one, even if I think it is one of her earlier work. The graphic is a little less stylish than Fourth Generation Head: Tatsuyuki Oyamato or Jealousy, but the story is, as always, a mix of romance with a little sadistic side. But even if a little bit twisted, her characters nevertheless have always a nice happy ending.

Room to Room by Lee Aru

Dowan is a typical college kid who loves to workout and hang out with his friends. But when his secret crush becomes his roommate, how will he be able to control his urges? To make matters worse, his crush-cum-roommate, Chamin, suffers from “sexsomnia.” He completely forgets his sexual episodes the next day. This leads to steamy nights between the two but leaves Dowan feeling empty when things go back to normal the next day. His heart broken anew every day, Dowan just has to figure out a way to make his roommate his boyfriend for real...

My Rate: 7 (https://www.lezhinus.com/en/comic/roomtoroom)

If Window to Window was mostly about sex but cute, its sequel about side couple Dowan and Chamin is just about sex. The graphic is still nice, and yes, also the sex is nice, but I still cringe a little seeing that again these two are venturing into a sex relationship without being aware of its consequences... actually in this case Chamin is really unaware, since he is having a bad case of sexinsonnia, and Dowan at first doesn't realize it. Not that when he realizes it things change a lot... If I have to find a merit on this story is that Dowan is a real gay character, and not someone who is gay since he is in love with a man. Dowan is gay even before meeting Chamin, and it just happens that Chamin is totally his type... with the only big problem that Chamin has a girlfriend. Luckily when they start having sex, Chamin has been dumped by his girlfriend, so there is no cheating happening. Room to Love is a short sequel to Room to Room and is about Dowan doing his military service: I quite liked this glimpse on the real life of a South Korean young man.

Window to Window by Lee Aru

Childhood friends Ginu and Yubin live in separate apartments in separate buildings right next to each other – so close, in fact, they can talk to each other and see into each other’s apartments through their windows. But Yubin’s long-held secret is revealed one day when Ginu sees him doing something naughty through the window...

My Rate: 7 (www.lezhinus.com/en/comic/window_en)

Window to Window is sort of cute since it's about young lovers (college students). It's also mostly about sex, and by the way, these two boys are totally naivee to matters related to safe sex: doing it while inhebriated, without using condoms, or even having sex for the first time with a one night stand, that like Yubin was a decent man, but could have been really a dangerous situation. So in a way, it's a true story, since Ginu and Yubin are learning the things of life and they are two boys just starting their independent life. It's good luck to them that nothing bad really happens, and that they can reach their happily ever after unscathed. Nice graphic, even if, indeed, there is a bit too much sex.

Yes, My Destiny, Answer by Sachimo

The story tells of a stubborn young master and his loyal servant. Because of their statuses, their love story is at the mercy of fate. Aoi is the heir to his family, but due to some discord between him and his stepmother, he is forced to leave the house. And there to support him is his childhood butler, Miyauchi. After living his days being doted on and served, Aoi finds his position reversed, where he has to work all day. And what has supported him throughout this lifestyle is his unrequited love of 5 years for Jirou, the heir to the Saionji family, a leading automobile maker.

My Rate: 8 (myanimelist.net/manga/102504/Kashikomarimashita_Destiny)

Even if the series started about the standard alpha/omega couple, Aoi and Jirou, the couple that stole the scene is that of Miyauchi and Kudou. The character of Miyauchi is the more complex, and the more interesting; I wouldn't have minded to see him regnonized as he deserved, but nontheless he has a very nice happy ending. There is indeed material for more stories, but the author apparently decided to stop with this happy ending, and in a way it's fitting. Very nice graphic, but if I have to find a defect, is that the panel were sort of very small, full of details and difficult to read. If you read it online you can enlarge the panels, but then you loose the whole effect of the page.

Beast's Storm by Morry Kuroi

In this world, there are humans without beast ears and humans with beast ears, called Bestia. Dr. Akira Miyaji specializes in treating Bestian patients and is a Bestia himself. Born to non-eared parents, he has been raised thinking he must suppress his instincts. So when he sees Sougo Kijima, a Bestia who lets his instincts run him wild, there's something that makes the doctor snarl. Sougo Kijima is one of the directors of the hospital where Dr. Miyaji works. And to make matters worse, Kijima has designated Dr. Miyaji specifically to be his practitioner! What is it about him that Miyaji reacts to so much?!

My Rate: 8 (mangaplanet.com/comic/615fa746b6393)

Beast's Storm is one of my favorite series if we are talking about omegaverse. Actually it's not really omegaverse, cause there is no difference between Alpha and Omega, but here all "beasts" (meaning human with cat genes) can give birth, despite the gender. The reason why I like it is cause it's really cute and all the babies make the series even cuter. I also liked that the relationship between Akira and Sougo starts pretty much in the first chapter and then develop from that (I don't like when they delay too much the starting of it). Even if there are no much turns in Akira and Sougo's relationship, the introduction of side stories, all of them interesting, is a way to maintain high the level of attention and interest of the readers.

Konya mo Nemurenai by Kotetsuko Yamamoto

College student Rikiya Higuchi knows he likes men, but he has never had a boyfriend. In a moment of courage, he signs up for a gay dating website, hoping to find a man willing to build a relationship together. Rikiya soon takes a liking to a pen pal—the first man to write to him—and agrees to meet up with him. But he is tricked and wakes up in front of a camera, about to have intercourse with his captor. Desperate to escape, Rikiya cries for help, and unexpectedly, a person materializes out of the walls!

By accident, Rikiya summoned Endo Guar Adroone—a high-class demon with a bad attitude—alongside his bird butler. As he removes Rikiya's retainers, Endo announces that Rikiya is his contractor and that he shall grant the unfortunate student anything his heart desires. Instead of asking Endo to manipulate someone into falling in love with him, Rikiya only wishes to be sent back home so that the demon and his assistant can return to their own world. However, Endo is escaping an arranged marriage—and Rikiya might have to deal with the arrogant demon for a little longer than expected.

My Rate: 8

Konya mo Nemurena, that you can translate in Another Sleepless Night, is one of most famous works by Kotetsuko Yamamoto. Truth be told, it's not really my cup of tea, and moreover I don't like much that the demon character has the features of a middle school boy. Yes, in reality he is hundred years old, but still, it's a little bit disconcerting to see him with that looks. It's also true that this is not really a sexy romance, so there are few kisses and even less sex scenes (just at the very end), so it really doesn't matter in the end. Anyway, the story is most fantasy, with little contemporary elements, therefore, as I said, not really my cup of tea.

Angel Buddy by MasterGin and Chungnyun

To others, Sooho might appear a little strange. But to Sooho, there's much more to "life" than the average person may ever know. And that's because Sooho sees spirits. At first he thought his "abilities" were limited to seeing the average ghost here and there, but one day he witnesses a real life angel floating in midair and staring at him. He then promptly breaks said angel's wing by accident. Sooho's had many a ghost follow him around in his short life, but he's never had to take care of an angel...nor a spirit quite so handsome as Taker.

My Rate: 8 (www.lezhinus.com/en/comic/angelbuddy)

I'm not really a big fan of contemporary fantasy romance (i.e. romance with fantasy elements in a contemporary setting) so I maybe will not give complete justice to Angel Buddy. The story is not bad, and the graphic is nice, but, all in all, it was a little boring, it didn't manage to catch me. There is a big bonus thought, it's a full happy ending, so that is could be a reason to give this a try.

Hyperventilation by Bboung bbang kkyu

Myongi and Sunho haven't seen each other since they were 18 years old. Now 27, they run into one another at a high school reunion, and the romantic feelings they had for one another come rushing to the surface. But are they the same people now that they were back then?

My Rate: 7 (amzn.to/41EgNhB)

Hyperventilation is a short manhwa, but in only 6 episodes it packs material worthy for 10 times more. The story is simple, but somewhat idylliac: Myongi and Sunho were high school mates and they really didn't have much of relationship, but it's clear that they both had unrequited feelings for each others, only that it was too much of a big thing for 18 years olf. 10 years later, the things have changed, and they are ready to grasp their chance. It's really a one night span story, but as I said, it's enought to make you fall in love for these characters. Very nice graphic as well. Anite adaption is one of my favorite too.

Semantic Error by Angy and J. Soori

A BUG IN THE SYSTEM

Reason, routine, and rules. These are the tenets that computer science major Sangwoo Choo lives by, so when the rest of his teammates fail to contribute to their group’s presentation, he cuts their names from the project—including that of a complete no-show, whose plans to graduate and study abroad have gone down the drain as a result. Not that that’s any of Sangwoo’s business…until he realizes that Jaeyoung Jang, the talented design major he was hoping to hire for his video game, is: one, that very same classmate, and two, hell-bent on returning the favor and being the biggest thorn in his side! Will Sangwoo be able to debug this semantic error before it upends his entire life?

My Rate: 9 (amzn.to/45PAIwC)

While reading Semantic Error you cannot avoid to compare it with the drama, since, for once, the drama is quite respecting the storyline. One thing that was completely different are the features of Jaeyoung Jang, he actually looks like a western man in the manhwa, while instead it's a classical korean beauty in the drama. In a way, the drama is more realistic than the manhwa. Said that, the graphic of the manhwa is very good and the love story, although innocent, is very nice. I would say that, if you liked the drama, you will not be disappointed by the manhwa.

Intoxicated by Changpei Literature

Omega Shen Tingwei wakes up after a traffic accident and soon realizes something is very wrong. The people around him have no idea what an omega is, the local pharmacy doesn't carry his heat suppressants, and no one - including the doctor at the nearest hospital - seems to understand the reason he is feverish and giving off the scent of wine is that he's going into heat. Enter Lian Jue, a wealthy man with Emotional Deprivation Disorder who is struggling to balance running his company, appeasing his difficult family, and caring for his adopted son, Kangtong. When he encounters the heat-drunk Shen Tingwei staggering around the city and saves him from getting hit by yet another vehicle, the two men soon become entangled in each other's lives. Shen Tingwei is lost and helpless in a world not his own, and Lian Jue can't help but be drawn to the intoxicating stranger...

My Rate: 8

For being a Chinese manhua, Intoxicated is pretty sexy; of course the sex is not explicit, but at least it was not totally erased. Said that the story is a mix of comedy and emotional romance, meaning that the romance is not all easy and peachy, but at least it's always clear from the first episodes that these two are a couple and are trying to reach a level where their love can develop peacefully. Really nice graphic (Chinese are top on this) and the mix between chibi and ordinary characters are good and not disappointing. Sometime I found the introduction of Chibi like an intrusion, but not in this case.

Love Stage!! by Eiki Eiki and Taishi Zaou

Izumi Sena is an average guy born into a family of famous celebrities. A college student and total otaku, he works hard every day with the goal of someday becoming a manga creator.

His father is a singer and his mother an actress, while older brother Shogo is the lead singer for the popular band “CRUSHERZ.” Though his family is packed with famous celebrities, Izumi Sena is just your average guy. Currently a college student, he is a huge otaku with aspirations of becoming a manga creator. But one day he gets roped into participating in a TV commercial and meets popular young actor Ryoma Ichijo. Could this be the same boy he starred in a commercial with over ten years ago?!

My Rate: 8 (amzn.to/4lxm16a)

Love Stage!! is probably one of the most adapted manga out there: anime, drama, movie, basically every type of media. Indeed the manga is quite a classic yaoi story, with the seme and uke pair, and with a lot of comedic undertones making it more cute than sexy. I can for sure say that I like the graphic, even more since in the anime version I can see it in full color. And for once the two live action adaptations are not bad either. If I have to be true, my favorite couple is the side one, the brother and the manager, and I'm a little sad that, even if they have their own manga, it was not adapted.
