Hmmmmm. To stretch or not to stretch.
Aug. 12th, 2006 02:03 amIn most NC-17 slash fics I have read (that are not non-con) there is usually an element of preparation in the form of stretching the anus by hand or by spell, before the fucking begins.
After having watched 42 hours of QAF (US series 1 and 2) I have yet to see anything resembling that taking place, and I don't mean close shots of Brian with his fingers up Justin's arse. All fucking on the show (so far seen) consists of some fore play - kissing, sucking of nipples or cock, then condom on and straight in. Lube rarely puts in an appearance.
I can't help but wonder how painful it is to be penetrated without prior preparation.

Date: 2006-08-12 08:55 am (UTC)Some people produce copious natural lubricant (the rectum is a mucous membrane, remember), others hardly any. In the former case, you can get away with no lube, although prep is still important (see 'relaxing muscles' above). If there's little to no natural lubricant, then it's downright dangerous to merrily bugger away without adding some. I know some people like pain, but a torn rectum? Not pretty, and potentially leads to peritonitis / blood poisoning, even before we get onto the potential passage of STDs, including HIV. ::grimaces::

Date: 2006-08-12 02:51 pm (UTC)That's a good point and I'd forgotten that the rectum is a mucous membrane. I know how to relax the other muscles, I think all women do (what with all the prodding and poking we put up with from the medical profession). Eew, that was probably TMI.
